Middle East Situation Update – Service Advisory

Dear Valued Customers,

In view of the continued escalation of war and/or military actions between the United States and Israel against Iran, which has rendered the security situation in the Middle East increasingly unpredictable and beyond control, Wan Hai Lines Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) continues to closely monitor the developments.

The Company reiterates that the safety of its crew, vessels, and customers’ cargo remains its highest priority.

Based on the current situation assessment, the Company has implemented necessary emergency measures for shipments to, from, or involving the following countries and ports:

United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Dammam Port, Jubail Port), Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman.

I. Emergency Measures

To ensure overall operational safety and the safety of vessels, personnel, and cargo, the measures may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Adjustment of vessel voyage plans based on actual conditions.
  • Discharge at contingency ports when necessary.
  • Adjustment of operational arrangements based on actual conditions.

All such actions are carried out pursuant to Clause 9 of the Company’s Bill of Lading and are subject to applicable Force Majeure provisions.

II. Costs and Liabilities

  • All costs arising from the implementation of the above emergency measures and the application of the Bill of Lading provisions shall be for the account of the Customer.
  • Such costs include, but are not limited to, port deviation charges, detention, handling, transshipment, and other related operational expenses.
  • Where applicable, any surcharges (such as security-related or emergency surcharges) must be settled in accordance with the Company’s announcements prior to cargo release.

The Company fully acknowledges the operational challenges these measures may impose on customers’ logistics arrangements and business operations. The Company remains committed to maintaining transparent communication and, subject to safety being assured, will endeavor to ensure service continuity and stability.
